NULAA introduces a textile & fashion collection for the upcoming Autumn/Winter 2013 that is shaped and moved by the eco friendly fashion movement. The collection takes up on the concept of communicating through imagery that reminds and brings awareness on environmental issues through the use of textiles/ surface design and fashion. The natural beauty that is found in disappearing forests and its endangered inhabits is what inspires “The Urban Hiker” collection, with its earthy color palette with a hint of blues and purple and red, along with organic and recycled fabric used, this collection does keep the eco movement close to heart. The fragility and sensitivity that the environment holds is reflected through the fine lined drawings and motifs, carefully printed and sewn. The ladies of the 1930s hiking club also plays an inspirational role for the fashion garments, that helps support and compliment the vision of this concept, with their ability to combine femininity with ruggedness. These elements can be seen through the feminine 3d embroidery and hints of soft peaches of colors throughout the collection. Accompanied with the usage of crisp hemp and frayed edged cotton fabrics for the rugged & edginess.
